About Us

The Asian Era is a weekly tabloid newspaper in English to serve the Asian American community, particularly those of Indian origin. Our aim is to cater to the Indian diaspora in the US, which is drawn from every part of India and, more than ever before, wants to stay connected with their roots and retain their ethnic identities while assimilating into the American culture and way of life.

Headquartered in New York, The Asian Era is committed to bringing all the news that matters for the Indian American, week after week. In publication since 2008 as a monthly lifestyle magazine, till relaunched in 2021 as a news weekly, The Asian Era continues with its efforts to bring our local communities together, especially in the New York metropolitan area – consisting of New York City and adjacent areas within the state of New York – as well as nearby areas within the states of New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. We strive to be the bridge between the ethnic community in the Tristate – by far the largest Indian American population in the country – and mainstream government authorities, products, and services.

A unique South Asian publication, The Asian Era also provides coverage of the Indian diaspora in Europe and the Middle East. Our aim is to create an important platform and a portal where all Indian communities across the US and the rest of the world can engage with each other.
